Hi, I just wanted to say thank-you for sharing your family's story. Your son is georgeous! I have a nephew who has sma type 1 that just turned 1 year old on January 11 2003. Anyway I have been trying to read all of the stories of these courageous children and wanted to say thanks for sharing. Hi, I was looking at pictures of Ty, and I came across this website. Your little boy is such a cutie pie. It was interesting and sad at the same time to read about Christian's story. He is truly blessed! I am 16 years old, and I was born premature, I know that's not the same really but, I just wanted to tell you that. I was born May 6,1987 and was supposed to be born September 22,1987, I weighed 1lb. 5 oz. Take Care and God Bless!

I'm only 12 years old in grade seven and before I read about this amazing boy I did not know was sma was but now that I know I cannot believe that the parents of of this wonderful child can cope with this but you all must be wonderful people and Christian must be the best child you could have and I will pray for Christian night after night.His story was wonderful and the pictures were so cute. I was told about your website by my neice. Her 3yr. old son was diagnosed with SMA l year ago at age 2. We love your web site! What a beautiful child. Our little Cole is also beautiful and very affectionate. They really are angels. I love spending time with Cole. Thank your Uncle Ty, for giving SMA all of the exposure on his show. I was lead to your site by a picture of Ty Pennington holding your son. I am in love with Ty, as all girls and women are, but now I see your little man is so handsome, too! God bless you and your family. I will pray for your son that he continues to be healthy & happy. He is an angel and special. He was heaven sent because little boys like that are here to bring hope to others and their stories are meant to be used as tools from God. I just got word of Christian's passing from Michelle Fox, another SMA mom. My name is Holly Schafer and I am also an SMA mom, my daughter Claire earned her wings on April 29, 1999. I got a post on MySpace about a movie to watch. I don't generally watch them, but for some reason I did today. Even after seeing that it was over seven minutes in length. I have struggled with the whole God image for a long time. I have a great God concept, I can tell you who everyone else and the Bible says he is, yet I struggle believing it. I just wanted to say that Christian is a very beautiful boy. My son, Justin, also has SMA type 1. He is know 7 1/2 years old. I see alot of similarities between these two angels. It appears that Christian's time spent on Earth was filled with love and happiness. If your child was smiling, you were doing everything right. These children are truley a gift from God. I'm sitting in Iraq waiting to return back to my child. When I say my prayers tonight, I will pray for God to give strength to your family and I will thank him for allowing us to be touched by his angels.

Mr. Christian Ward, today it has been one whole year here on earth since the day you went to be with Jesus. Just like with my precious princess, I still cannot believe you have flown home. My eyes welled up with tears just now looking at all of your beautiful photos. Your mommy is right, God sure does know how to make things beautiful. I know you are wrapping your angel wings around mommy today and telling her not to be too sad. I hope you have given her some extra special signs today too. I know the feeling of being so very "homesick" for your heart, because it is with your precious angel in heaven. But it always warms my heart a bit when my angel princess reminds me that she is always with me. I hope you and Kalair are fast friends by now. I think about your mommy so much, but I am terrible about writing. I am just having such a hard time myself with missing my baby, I don't think I am at a point where I am able to bring comfort to others yet. I am also kept very busy with Kalair's little brother, Arturo. He has SMA type two like you did, actually he reminds me a lot of you. So I know your mommy understands how we spend our days, in and out of wheelchairs and standing frames, making sure he drinks all of his amino formula, etc. Having a child with type two and one who is all boy is so much different from life with my fragile princess, but it is also very fun! I just miss my Kalair SOOO much!!! In ten days it will be the anniversary of the day my girl joined you in heaven. I am so happy for both of you and all the amazing things you can see and do now. It would selfish of me to pray you both back here so I will pray instead for strength from the Lord for your mommy and me so we can get through our days here on earth doing God's will until we can some day come hold you again in heaven. When that day comes, look out! Because I know your mommy will never want to put you down. :0) Until then, give Jesus some big, squeezy hugs and lots of kisses for me, and keep showering your wonderful mommy with lots of love too.
