SMA FACTS SMA is the #1 genetic killer of children under the age of 2.   SMA children with the most severe form often face quickly increasing muscle weakness, leading to paralysis and death.   One of every 6,000 children born are affected by SMA.   One out of 40 people, most unknowingly, carry this deadly gene.   Some Statistics show SMA to be  TWICE as common as ALS.   There Is NO CURE Yet have you ever heard of it? 2006 Worldwide Candle Lighting
in Memory of All Children

The 10th Annual Worldwide Candle Lighting will be held on Sunday, December 10th, at 7 p.m. in every time zone around the world.

The Worldwide Candle Lighting is held every year on the second Sunday in December, at 7:00 PM in every time zone.   People in every time zone around the world light a candle in honor of all children who have died, that their light may always shine. As candles burn down in one time zone, they are lit in the next, creating a 24-hour wave of light that encircles the globe.
