There are many, many ways in which each of us as individuals can help. Every thing that you do, big or small, has an impact of such that you may never even see the final results. Every person that you help can then reach out and help others, like ripples spreading from the impact of a single small stone. And if money is your area of contribution, every dollar that you give is a dollar closer to the cure that will save these children's lives. Don't be discouraged by the size of the task in front of you-just do your small part. Then all the parts around the world will come together as a whole-and a cure will finally be found.

Internet shopping is growing more and more popular every day, and the more people who go through IGive to purchase their products on-line, the more money is donated towards SMA! Anything that you would normally purchase can be purchased through IGive. They have links to drugstores for everything from prescriptions to toothpaste to diapers. They have links to bookstores, pet stores, music stores, toy stores, tool stores, clothing stores-all brand names and all secure on-line purchasing. They are easy to use, convenient, and a simple way to raise money for SMA research! You will only have to sign up once, and from there on out, it's all about shopping!

  • Fundraisers:  Each person has the capability to do any kind of fundraiser-the possibilities are limitless! Following are several examples of fundraisers, big and small, that have raised money to find a cure for SMA:

  1. Garage Sales

  3. Cans or jars set up in approved public places

  4. Corporate sponsorships-most businesses need a tax write-off. Ask them!

  2. Tell your family and friends about IGive and ask them to pass it on!

  3. Get information and write an article and submit it to a newspaper.

  6. Contact your local media to do a "human interest" story on an SMA child.
